Comparing Divisions Of The Central Nervous System ( Brain + Spinal Cord) Flashcards

(4 cards)

1
Q

Both receive and process information from the PNS

A

sensory info from the somatic is sent to the spinal cord first, where some of it is processed, allowing reflex actions. After this, it is sent to the brain, where it is processed further.

Q

Unlike the spinal cord, the brain is the final destination for sensory information

A

sensory info is sent to the spinal cord from the PNS, but from there it is then sent to the brain. This is because the brain is the main point of the nervous system where information is processed
