ronald reagan

Ronald Reagan’s domestic policy challenges

A

He tried to revive the economy by applying the theory of supply-side economics. He believed that if corporate taxes were reduced, those corporates would earn greater profits
As a result, wealth would trickle down, the tax cuts would hurt the poor since they don’t get funding from the federal gov. This policy only benefited the rich.

Q

Ronald Reagan’s domestic policy challenges

A

His New Federalism plan called for the decrease in size of the federal government. But the plan was quite the opposite of federalism. The plan though, never worked because the states feared that the shift would greatly increase the cost of a state gov which would require unpopular tax increases at the state level.
