Q

What are the issues associated with achievement tests?

A

1 -Scores are based on national, not local, norms
2 -Grade equivalent scores refer to the average score earned by children at a particular grade level on a particular test, not the grade level at which a specific gifted child can function well in a classroom
3 -Most achievement tests are not sufficiently difficult to measure the high ability of a gifted student - the students top out in the 95th percentile - low ceiling
