Q

What is the difference between DRAM and SRAM?

A

DRAM is used in the main memory within the RAM modules while SRAM is used in the cache due to it being faster than DRAM. DRAM constantly need a ‘refresh signal’ while SRAM doesn’t require it.

Q

What is the purpose of virtual memory?

A

It’s a slow form of storage when RAM runs out of space. The less used data is moved to virtual memory and data that is need by the computer is moved from virtual memory to RAM.
