What is utility software
It is a set of tools that can be used to analyse and optimise efficiency
What is memory management within the operating system
It is responsible for different programs being requiring the instructions and data to be loaded. In over words multitasking
How is the CPU used within the operating system
It allocates CPU time to the different applications because all the components need the cpu to execute the program instructions
Does the OS mange the input and output devices
It manages the input and output devices required for the input and output of data

What is the role of the user interface
The user interface allows the user to communicate with the computer
Describe lossless compression
Reduces the size without deleting any of the data. This is important for text files
Lossy compression
Reduces the sizes by deleting some of data that can never be brought back
What does it mean if a computer is being backed up
Backing up involves the copying of data stored on a computer system onto a separate storage device such as disc or tape
What full back up
All of the specific data on the storage device is copied
What is incremental backup
Only data that is new or has been changed is copied
