Confidentiality is the protection of personal information.

Confidentiality means keeping a client’s information between you and the client, and not telling others including colleagues, friends, family, etc… Except when it is a must to do so.

* client expresses intention to harm self;
* client expresses intention to harm another;
* client is being physically or sexually abused; or
* Therapist is summoned by the Court to provide information about the counselling relationship.
