What types of fields do locale settings affect?
Date and time
Address
Currency
Name
Number
In what places can language, locale, and timezone settings be changed?
Setup -> Company Information (company default)
Setup -> Users (admin assigning per-user)
User settings -> Language & Time Zone (per-user)
What is a fully supported language?
A language in which all Salesforce Features, including User Interface, Setup, and Help will display in the selected language.
Examples include English, German, French, Spanish, …
What is an End User language?
Languages that have translations for all standard object field labels and pages, but not Setup and Help.
What is a Platform language?
Languages in which it’s possible to provide translations for fields. If translations are not provided, labels fall back to English.
What languages can be selected as the company default?
All Fully Supported languages.
Any other languages enabled in Setup->Language Settings
What is a User License?
License that defines a user’s baseline features.
Examples include Salesforce, Salesforce Platform, Chatter Free, etc.
What is a Feature License?
License that gives access to additional features not included in the User License.
Examples include Marketing, Knowledge, etc.
What is a Permission Set License?
Licenses that gradually grant users access to features not included in their User License.
*These are basically just permission sets with a cap on the number of people that can be assigned to them.
Where can licenses be viewed?
Setup -> Company Information
What are API Limits and what is the limit window? Where can limits be checked?
The number of API requests that can be made in a 24 hour period.
Can be checked in Setup -> Company Information.
What is the default currency setting in a Salesforce org?
Single currency
*The currency used will be whatever is specified in Corporate Currency, in Setup -> Company Information
What considerations does an admin need to be aware of when enabling multi-currency (in Setup -> Company Information)?
All currencies to be used need to be activated by the administrator.
Exhange rates between currencies should be added by the administrator.
What is a dated exhange rate?
An exchange rate between currencies that applies specifically to the date in which an Opportunity closes.
*Advanced Currency Management must be enabled for this feature
How do Reports support multi-currency?
They display both a primary and secondary currency.
Primary = corporate default currency OR record currency.
Secondary = per-user default currency OR the currency specified in the report itself.
What features do Business Hours and Holidays affect?
Case escalation
Entitlement processes
(Service/Support processes)
*Multiple sets of hours can be created and then one is recorded on each Case

What is a Standard Fiscal Year?
Follows the Gregorian calendar (12mo)
Can start on the 1st of any month.
What are some considerations administrators need to have when enabling a new fiscal year structure?
If the user is enabling a custom FY, then it cannot be reverted back to strandard.
Doing so can delete existing forecasting if there is an overlap with the previous FY.
What are the limits on Data and File Storage? Where can an org’s current usage be viewed?
Data: 10GB + 20MB per user license
File: 10GB + 2GB per user license

What are Big Objects?
A type of object that can be used to store particularly large objects. These are often either archived regular objects or data imported from other systems into Salesforce.
What does the “Enable Hover Details” UI setting do?
Enables a summary display of a record when hovering over a record link.
*Fields displayed are determined by the compact page layout
What does the “Related List Hover Links” UI setting do?
Adds related list links at the top of record detail pages.
*Mainly affects Salesforce Classic

What does the “Inline Editing in Lightning Experience” UI setting do?
Displays a pencil or lock icon (depending on field access) when a user hovers over a field.
