Functional and dysfunctional conflict

Name the three conflict management styles and give a brief explanation of each?
- Non-confrontational style- doesn’t want to start conflict.
- Confrontational style- wants it their way.
- Cooperative style- gives options isn’t really on a “side”
List the three strategies we discussed to help resolve conflict and explain which one works best and why?

Best is win-win because you compromise with the other person so you are both happy
What are the six steps in order to be successful? (Win-win)
- Control emotions
- Agree on group rules
- Make sure all positions are clear
- Explore several needs and issues.
- Develop alternative plans
- Chose win-win solutions

It is a learning process that helps people understand conflict dynamics and it allows them to communicate creatively to resolve conflicts peacefully and fairly
