connective tissues Flashcards
(13 cards)
connective tissues
-under epitherial tissue
-well supplied with blood vessels (except tendons, cartialage, ligaments), good blood supply=faster healing
-cells don’t make contact
matrix of connective tissue
-ground substance
-protein fibers (collagen, elastic, and reticular)
4 cells of connective tissue: chondroblasts
forms the cartilages and cells become chondrocytes
4 cells of connective tissue : osteoblasts
forms bone and osteocytes
4 cells of connective tissue: hematopoietic
– found in red bone marrow and forms blood cells
4 cells of connective tissue: fibroblast
: are the precursor cells found in connective tissue proper . They make this tissue and secrete the matrix ( adult cells are fibrocytes)
structure of connective tissues
cells, fibers (reticular, elastic, collagen), and ground substance
12 types of connective tissue: cartilage- hyaline
-made from chondrocytes located in lacunae
-background is opaque, fibers are not visible
where? costal cartiledge, (belongs to ribs), cartiledge in trachea, ends of bones that make a movable joint
12 types of connective tissue: cartilage- elastic
-hallos are close together
-where? ear and epiglottis
12 types of connective tissue : cartilage- fibrocartilage
12 types of connective tissue: blood
fluid=plasma
cells- red blood cells (erythrocyte no nucleus), white blood cells (leukocytes has nucleus), platelets (thronbocytes)
12 types of connective tissue: bones- compact
-made from osteocytes and organized into units called osteons
12 types of connective tissues: bones- sponge
