Liver Qi Stagnation with Spleen Qi deficiency + heat clearing the heart/liver (more anger, red tongue)
Er Chen Tang
Phelgm Damp Syndrome - coughing with excessive white phlegm
Caution: can be quite drying

Ma Huang Tang
Wind Cold Invasion - stop when patient starts sweating - looks like the common cold, watery/runny nose, wheezing
Has ephedra in it - so caution in HTN, prolonged use & heat symptoms
DDX Gui Zhi Tang

Wind Cold Invasion with Interior Deficiency - releases the exterior from muscles, common cold symptoms with body aches, HA - not relieved by sweating
DDX - Ma Huang Tang
Do not confuse with Gui PI Tang (spleen qi def)

Wind Invasion and Pain - HA, common cold symptoms
Sang Ju Yin
Wind Heat Invasion - Mild common cold - slight fever & cough

Liver Qi Stagnation with cold, Liver overacting on Spleen, Rebellious Liver Qi - cold tips of fingers/toes

-low back pain, spontaneous emissions
-mostly nourishes yin than clearing heat
CI: spleen qi def. due to nourishing effects

LVR/KD Yin Deficiency with Fire or internal heat in lower burner- Yin def. with lots of heat

Cold signs with aging
CI: Yin def, dampness
Da Bu Yin Wan
severe Liver and Kidney Yin deficiency with empty heat, Essence Def, with empty heat, Lung Yin Deficiency
-lots of heat deficiency symptoms, steaming bone disorder (osteoporosis)
More heat clearing, less nourishing Yin
Caution spleen qi def. as may be too nourishing
CI: cases of Fire from excess
Contains fresh water turtle shell
Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan
Kidney Yang Deficiency with empty cold or water dampness - low back/knee pain with cold signs
CI: Yin def, preg
Ban Xia Hou Po Tang
Liver Qi Stagnation with Phlegm - plum pit Qi, emotional, stress
CI: Yin def., watch for heat signs as it would make phlegm worse
Ding Chuan Tang
Rebellious Lung Qi with phlegm heat, stops wheezing/asthma, cough with copious thick phelgm - if yellow means more heat
Not for chronic asthma due to def., wind-cold w/o signs of phelgm heat

Blood Stagnation in Uterus (cinnamon & poria)
Fibroids, endometriosis
Gan Mai Da Zao Tang
Heart Yin Deficiency with Spleen Qi def, and Liver Qi Stagnation emotional lability (depression - manic), anxiety, overthinking, sighing
Long Dan Xie Gan Tang
Liver/GB Damp Heat (liver heat, damp lower jiao symptoms)
Caution: not longterm can cause Spleen def.
