Q

Removal of Thatcher and replacement of Major emphasise 1NC approach

A

E- Thatcher implemented the Poll Tax 1990 which was unpopular. Criticised for being unfair and aggressive, disproportionately impacting the poor by charging individuals same amount regardless of income.
Mass protests + riots breakdown in social unity , something different from 1NC which emphasises social cohesion .
A- major aimed to reduce inequality and restore trust in Gov.
L- pragmatic style of leadership, away form thatchers divisive policies . More close with 1 nation ideal to govern for all social classes.
