Concentration camps:
-set up as soon as Hitler gained power
-lots of homosexuals, political opponents and people deemed unfit and unworthy were sent there
-forced to complete harsh labour, were tortured and even worked to death

-only stories that showed Nazis as good were permitted
-negative stories about enemies
-newspapers that did not conform were shut down

Films and theatre
-had to appeal to nazism

Radio:
-broadcasted Nazi ideas
-only could tune into Nazi radios
-loudspeakers place in streets, factories and in cafes

Public:
-mass rallies were held to celebrate Hitler
-arenas were built which held events to flatter the Nazis
-posters were placed everywhere

-Nazi owned film studios
-all films had to carry pro-Nazi messages
-achievements were showed in films

Music:
-traditional marching music, folk songs, and classical music was approved
-Jewish composers were banned and so was jazz

Literature:
-lots of books were banned
-books about race, the glory of war, and the Nazis were encouraged
-Hitler released a book

Sports and leisure:
-the Olympic Games were introduce in 1936

Assassination attempts:
-around 50 attempts
-The Kreisau Circle - a group of army officers, university professors and aristocrats who planned to assassinate Hitler, but never did
-The Beck-Goerdeler group - contacted the British about removing Hitler and tried to kill Hitler in the July Bomb Plot of 1944.
-The July 1944 Bomb Plot - army officer, Stauffenberg, was part of a group that set off a bomb
