Control systems. Flashcards
(16 cards)
What is a control system?
A control system consists of one or more computers used to regulate the operation of other devices.
What is a sensor?
A device which automatically inputs data into a computer system, where the data is constantly changing and can be measured. They are used to detect data in the surrounding environment.

What are the advantages of sensors?
They have more accurate readings, can monitor things constantly, and there is no need of human intervention.
What is a control device?
Output devices that work in conjunction with sensor input devices and commands from computers in order to control a process. The control device physically changes something as output.
What is another word for “control device”?
