Correlation - Linea Flashcards
(3 cards)
1
Q
What is the null and alternative hypothesis for correlations?
A
Null: there is no correlation between X and Y
Alternative: there is a non-null between X and Y
2
Q
What is the R value for the alternative and null hypothesis?
A
R = 0: Null - no correlation
R >< 0: Alternative
3
Q
How do you create a randomisation distribution for correlations?
A
You shuffle one of Y or X, making you break the association between the two.
You keep reshuffling them and take the correlation to create the null distribution.
