How long do you look for a pulse?

The PT’s heart is breathing proficiently but the PT is not breathing. Administer breaths every 5-6 seconds to provide 20 per minute.

For adult PT’s how far down should you compress?
2 Inches(5cm)
For child PT’s how far down should you compress?
1/3 or 2inches(5cm)
For infants PT’s how far down should you compress?
1.5 inches(4cm)
When should a single rescuer activate the emergency response system when working an infant PT?
After 5 cycles of 30:2 compressions/breaths.
When should a single rescuer activate the emergency response system when working an adult or child PT?
Before beginning CPR.
What ages are adult pads used?
Ages 8 and older use adult pads.
Can under 8 use adult pads?
If child or pedi pads aren’t available used adult pads place the pads so they’re not touching.
Steps to aiding a choking infant?
Take the infant face down with head below chest on forearm and deliver 5 back blows forcefully in between the scapulas, Flip the PT over and deliver 5 forceful chest compressions, Check for FBOA, DO NOT PERFORM BLIND FINGER SWEEP. Repeat until PT becomes unconscious.
