Common Clinical Disorders: Anosmia (loss of smell, one-sided are normally unaware because of functioning other side, bilateral often accompanied with decreased taste; causes: head trauma, viral infectinos, PD, Az, intracranial lesions)

Exit Point: V1 (opthalic): Superior Orbital Fissure; V2 (maxillary): Foramen Rotundum; V3 (mandibular): Foramen Ovale; Mnemonic - Single Room Occupancy

Common Clinical Disorders: Trigeminal Neuralgia (brief severe pain, provoked by chewing/shaving/etc, unknown cause. can occur in MS pts, initial treatment with medications)

Exit Point: Auditory canal (stylomastoid foramen)
Course:
Common Clinical Disorders: Bell’s Palsy (divisions impaired, gradual recovery, unilateral LMN facial weakness, probably viral or inflammatory cause, normal MRI, medicated with oral steroids, 80% full recovery in 3 weeks)
