A
- appointed by the federal govrt.
- tries more severe crimes such as manslaughter.
- hears criminal appeals in summary.
- composed of a judge alone or a judge and jury.
- decisions must be followed by provincial court judges.

A
- Highest court and final court of appeal.
- ## Accepts only appeals that are of great importance.
