Besides the low carry and high carry we learned in CONTOMS what is an additional drag and carry?
A
- Pack Strap Carry [Drape the victims arms around your back like backpack straps; Difficult/impossible if victim can’t help]
- While on back, wad up shirt and use as drag strap

Do we do blood sweeps for chests?
A
- No, bleeding is usually internal not external; may have very small entrance wounds
- Do rakes across bare chest, auxilia, and back
- Keep fingers together and run up and down covering every square inch

What is a way to create a makeshift tourniquet with pt’s pants or shirt?
A
- Cut two separate strips from pant legs or arm sleeves; wrap around a couple times
- Tie a square knot and place a rod in the knot to spin
- Secure by cutting a hole in adjacent material to place rod or cut two more strips to secure the windlass; or use something else to wrap and tie off

May need to visualize under clothing; what is one way to do that quickly?
A
- Cut inspection hole by pinching and cutting with shears
- Cut up and down to lengthen may need to tear as weall

What is an effective way to provide direct pressure for arterial bleeds?
A
Need to interlock hands and clamshell over the wound; only effective way if serious arterial bleed
