Thrombosis of central retinal vein causing venous congestion and retinal ischaemia
Risk factors
- HTN
- diabetes
- glaucoma
- hypercoagulable states

What are the symptoms of CRVO?
A
Sudden painless loss of vision
Fundoscopy
- retinal haemorrhages
- dilated tortuous veins
- Cotton wool spots
- Macular oedema

What is CRAO?
A
Occlusion of central retinal artery causes retinal ischaemia
Causes
- emboli
- GCA

What are clinical features of CRAO?
A
Sudden painless unilateral vision loss
Fundoscopy
- pale retina
- cherry red spot at macula
RAPD present
