Compression of ulnar nerve

-Behind the medial epicondyle (funny bone)

  • Tight band of fascia forming the roof of tunnel (Osborne’s fascia)
  • Tightness at the intermuscular septum as the nerve passes between the 2 heads at the origin of flexor carpi ulnaris

  • Paraesthesiae in ulnar 1.5 fingers
  • Tinel’s test over cubital tunnel = +ve
  • Weakness of ulnar nerve innervated muscles

Due to weakness of adductor pollicis, patient will compensate action by flexing flexor pollicis longus of thumb to maintain grip strength
