What is formal and informal social control
Formal is control enforced by the government police and courts , enforcing legal laws.
Informal social control is enforced through agents of socialisation , enforcing acceptable ways to behave , norms etc
What are sanctions
Positive or negative actions take to encourage people to follow social norms
What are some examples of people who can enforce informal social control
Peers and family
Define race
Idea that humans can be divided into different racial groups by physical characteristics
Define ethnicity
The cultural group a person belongs to , from nationality , religion language or way lot life etc
Define nationality
Belonging to a particular nation or one ethnic group which forms a nation

Language spoken, food eaten, clothes worn, festivals and traditions , church

Curriculum may be biased to certain cultures (ethnocentric curriculum)

A group with different values and ways of behaving which are different from the dominent culture
