Q

What is net migration?

Why has it changed since Brexit?

A
  • Net Migration is the difference between people leaving the UK and people Immigrating to the UK.
  • If has most likely fallen since brexit as many citizens of other countries do not see it as such a desirable place to live since it is no longer attached to the EU. Job opportunities are improving in other European countries so the immigrants are more likely to settle in countries such as Germany.

Q

What happened between Russia and the UK?

What are the solutions?

A
  • Sergei Skripal was a former member in Russia’s military intelligence who betrayed them for MI6; they were found unconscious on a bench in Salisbury on March the 4th.
  • Many believe it poison attack by a Russian agent as the poison, novochok, could only be developed in that country.
  • I feel that members from each government should hold official talks on whether or not the poison is still being used by Russia and if possible use an in depth investigation.

A
  • Pro-EU government politicians and celebrities have backed the campaign as they feel they should be the ones who choose what deal then UK gets when we finally leave the EU in March 2019.
  • They also feel there should be another referendum as many people are more informed about the situation now than they were before.

Q

Why do you think gun crime has risen in the UK?

What solutions are there ??

A
  • There are many complex social reasons as to why many young people are carrying weapons as a form of defence. Many see it as a social status symbol and want to be respected and this is the only way they feel than can do that.
  • The police will not be able to combat this alone as it is a much deeper issue then just confiscating the weapons. But one solution is to educate people about why they should not carry them as apposed to launching an operation to confiscate all weapons.

Who’s fault to you think the ejection seat accident was ?

A
  • I believe it was the manufactures fault due to them not issuing the correct forms to be followed and by breaking critical health and safety law.

The prosecution was for £550,000 as a result of a guilty plea.

Martin-Baker did add that the seats are used by 92 air forces and have saved over 7,000 lives to date.
