In my opinion, the theme of this poem is the beauty of nature. It is not human love but love of nature

Déanann an file pearsantú ar an ngealach sa dán seo. Cruthaíonn sí a lán íomhanna suntasacha den ghealach. Sa chéad líne faighimid íomhá d’áilleacht na gealaí nuair a ghlaonn sí’ banríon na speartha’ uirthi
The poet personifies the moon in this poem. She creates many striking images of the moon. In the first line we get an image of the moon’s beauty when she calls her ‘queen of the sky’
