Q

What is the technique for thematic analysis

A
  • researcher reads and rereads data to become familiar and note down ideas
  • they will code the transcript by annotating it and reoccurring themes will be identified
  • re read transcript to ensure themes are appropriate
  • come up with conclusions based on the themes and contextualising analysis in relation to previous reasearch
  • once satisfied collect a new set of data to test the validity of themes created

Q

What are limitations of content and thematic analysis

A
  • observer bias may reduce objectivity
