A

-VoIP uses CODECS at either end to encode and decode data.
-The senders computer records a message using a webcam or microphone.
- The message is converted into digital data which is broken into packets.
-The received computer receives the packets and decodes the data.

Advantages of packet switching?

A
  • Sends data across a network efficiently.
  • It means big files which could otherwise clog up the network, can be sent whole
  • Allows efficient movement of data through a network
