-unauthorised access if not kept secure, leading to confidential info looked at, leading to distress

-written consent to use data takes time

-breaches put individuals at risk of abuse + harm

-put policies + procedures in place to ensure data is secure eg password protected.

-staff training in data protection: accurate written records, safe storage
