King Louis XVI was the king during the time of the French Revolution. He was not very smart and often listened to Queen Marie Antoinette over his professional advisers. He would get France into economic debt, and then he would call on the 3 Estates to decide what to do. This would start the French Revolution, and later he would be found guilty of high treason and executed.

What was the Reign of Terror?

A

The Reign of Terror started September 5, 1793 and ended July 27, 1794. The Reign of Terror was a period in the French Revolution when the Jacobins, unofficially controlled by Maximilien Robespierre, ruled over France. During the Reign of Terror, anyone who opposed the revolution would be executed by guillotine without judgement.
