- Goodness of Creation
everything and all people are potentially redeemable
Doctrine Of Creation
- Intelligibility and Purpose of Creation
created things and their purpose came from the wisdom of God so they are purposive, in principle, and intelligible
Doctrine Of Creation
- Creation Ex Nihilo (out of nothing)
God created the heavens and the earth out of His own goodness, power, and love, out of His own enthusiasm using no pre-existing materials distinct from His own mind
Doctrine Of Creation
- Creation stands as God’s stamp of approval on embodied, physical life
the things of the mind and spirit are sometimes no better, even worse, than the things of the body. Christianity rejects those “boutique spiritualities” that scorn the messy, organic nature of physical life

While we always remain creatures, in ways we are like our Creator

our place as creatures created in God’s image keeps us from both materialistic reduction and humanistic exaggeration

-with ourselves
-with others
-with the world
Satan’s role in the fall and the corruption of the world
dishonesty- God is truth
seduction
accusation
(Satan can’t do these without our consent)
Evil
any spoiling of shalom
sin
culpable evil, any failure to conform to the moral law of God in act, attitude, or nature
Original Sin
a tendency of the whole race, for which we bear collective guilt. It is universal human bent toward sin
Note: sin existed prior to humanity’s fall- Satan’s fall came before our temptation, not in Eden but in the Spiritual realm
