Cognitive psychology
The study of mental processes such as “attention, language use, memory, perception, problem solving, creativity and thinking.”
Psychodynamic psychology
The psychology of mental or emotional forces or processes developing especially in early childhood and their effects on their behavior and mental states.
Biological psychology
The application of biology to study physiological, genetic, and developmental mechanisms in behavior in humans.
Evolutionary psychology
A theoretical approach to psychology that attempts to explain useful mental and psychological traits- such as memory, perception, or language-as adaptions- as functional products of natural selection.
Social cultural psychology
Social cultural theory is psychology that looks at the important contributions that society makes to individual development. This theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture I’m which they live.
Behaviorist psychology
Behaviorist psychology is psychology that combines elements of philosophy, methodology, and theorizes that behavior can be measured, trained and behaved.
Humanistic psychology
It is a psychological perspective that emphasizes the study of the whole person.
