- To do the same with less
Value Added
What the customer is willing to pay for your product.
Idle Time
Tiempo muerto
World Class Manufacture
standard or guide of how many or how fast to do certain things.
SMED :
less than 10 minutes.
Internal times:
todo lo que tiene que ver con la máquina.
External times:
trabajo que hace una persona y no es directamente con la máquina. To diminish this you need to improve the method.
Standard cost:
costo que utilizas para tu planeación a futuro.

Objectives of Methods Engineering (3)
To reach preset standards
To achieve an adequate compensation for workers according to their production, skills, responsibilities and experience
To achieve a status satisfaction on workers for the work they do
The only way a business or company can grow and increase their gains is by increasing its
production or productivity.

Methods Engineering
Methods engineering includes the design, creation and selection of the best manufacturing methods, processes, tools, equipment and skills to manufacture a product based on the specifications developed by the product engineering area.
Job Design
Actions developed in order to adapt the task and the work station ergonomically to the human operator, not only to make it more productive but also safer and free of risks for the operator.
Standards
The standards are the final result of the study of times or the work measurement. This technique establishes a standard of time allowed to carry out a certain task, based on the measurements of the work content of the prescribed method, with due consideration of the fatigue and unavoidable delays of the personnel.
Objective of work design and standards
Increase productivity and reliability
Reduce unit costs, which allows more quality goods and services to be produced for more people.
