- cannot feel it when run finger over it
- can be caused by hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation

- generally refers to palpable lesions that are less than 1cm in diameter

- elevated lesion whose surface area is greater than its height above the skin
- can feel it if you run your finger over it

A
- palpable, solid, round or ellipsoidal lesion that is located deeper than a papule
- refers to lesions located in the subcutaneous fat, below the dermis
