  • cannot feel it when run finger over it
  • can be caused by hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation

  • generally refers to palpable lesions that are less than 1cm in diameter

  • palpable, solid, round or ellipsoidal lesion that is located deeper than a papule
  • refers to lesions located in the subcutaneous fat, below the dermis
