intrasex selection
a form of sexual selection where members of the same sex (typically males) compete with each other for access to mates
parental investment theory
posits that the sex investing more in offspring (usually females) will be more selective in choosing mates, while the sex investing less (usually males) will engage in more intense competition for mates
halo effect
The halo effect refers to the tendency to allow one specific trait or our overall impression of a person to positively influence our judgment of their other related traits.
-The halo effect refers to the tendency of people to rate attractive individuals more favorably for their personality traits or characteristics as compared to those who are less attractive.
