    to form Lewy bodies deposits within neurons

    substantia nigra and the

What are symptoms of Lewy body dementia?

A
  • Visual hallucinations
  • Problems with REM sleep
  • Cognitive fluctuations
  • Prominent executive dysfunction
  • Parkinsonism following the onset of dementia

A

Acetylcholinesterase
inhibitors (e.g. donepezil,
rivastigmine) and memantine can be used as they are in Alzheimer’s.
