Who could vote?
A
Rich property owners over the age of 21

What were ‘rotten boroughs’?
A
Very small villages, with sometimes only one or two voters, but could still send an MP to Parliament

How was voting unfair at the time?
A
- Voting was not done in secret
* People were bribed and threatened to vote for a particular person

Why were MPs always rich men?
A
- MPs were not paid so they had to already be rich
* This often meant they were only keen to support what rich people wanted

Who weren’t able to vote?
A
- Women
* Towns that didn’t have a representative eg Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield
