During the 1950/60s non white immigrants came from the former British colonies in the Caribbean and Africa. However more recently people have come from Eastern Europe. In search of economic opportunities, often filling the jobs that the British refuse to take or seeking asylum and refugee.

Since the 1960’s there has been a cultural change with the decline in prejudice towards ethnic minorities.

Because of the changes in the law. If the law is prohibiting discrimination, people are more likely to abandon their prejudice attitudes towards ethnic minorities.

What is a reason for why immigration has increased?

Improvements of Technology. Technology has meant that the improvement and inventions of planes and cars are able to take place therefore increasing people’s ability to move abroad and immigrate to countries.
