A
low mood, low energy, anhedonia for 2weeks+
early wakening, insomnia, weight changes, suicidality

A
- FBC, TFT, U+E, LFT
- Glucose, B12/ Folate
- cortisol
- tox screen
- CNS imaging
- HAD+ PHQ-9
- HAD- HOSPITAL ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION SCALE
- CNS imaging to rule out any organic causes

How is depression treated initially ?
A
Low intensity CBT —> high intensity —> SSRI

How is depression treated if unresponsive to treatment?
A
unresponsive to tx start SSRI + high intensity

How is depression treated if severe with poor oral intake/ psychosis?
A
severe with poor oral intake/ psychosis —> ECT

How is depression treated if recurrent?
A
recurrent - SSRI add lithium
