A
- phlebotomy (especially advised in pts with significant iron overload or with hemochromatosis gene mutations)
or
- low-dose hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine

what analgesia should be given when rewarming frost bite injuries?
A
ibuprofen
- may decrease vasoconstriction and additional damage to the tissue. - should be continued until frostbite injury is healed or until surgery.

uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase
- causes an accumulation of carboxylated porphyrinogens, which become oxidized to porphyrins
