What are the side effects of Finasteride ( hair loss treatment on men?
The most common side effects include:
decreased libido
erectile dysfunction

What is the MOA of Finasteride( hair loss treatment) ?
It works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Since DHT is a key factor in shrinking hair follicles and causing hair loss, reducing its levels can help slow hair loss and even promote regrowth in some people.
In what form is Finasteride taken?
Oral and for long term use. It’s takes more than 3-6 months to see changes
Finasteride is usually taken daily, and it can take about three to six months before you start noticing any significant improvement in hair growth. For full benefits, it often needs to be continued long-term.
As for females, finasteride is generally not recommended for use in premenopausal women, especially those who are pregnant or may become pregnant, due to the risk of birth defects. However, in certain cases, postmenopausal women or women with specific types of hair loss might be prescribed finasteride off-label. It’s best to consult with a healthcare provider to determine if it’s appropriate in individual cases.
