devices PRM 1 Flashcards
(8 cards)
Accerlerometer
➡ Measures movement by detecting changes in speed and direction across 3 axes (X, Y, Z); helps count steps, track activity, and sleep patterns.
Gyroscope
➡ Detects rotation and orientation by measuring angular velocity; used for posture, fall detection, and gesture recognition in smartwatches.
PPG Sensor
Uses green or infrared light to shine into the skin and measures how much light is absorbed by blood vessels; calculates heart rate and blood oxygen (SpO2).
ECG Sensor (Electrocardiogram)
➡ Uses metal electrodes to pick up the electrical signals generated by your heartbeats; used to detect heart rhythm irregularities like arrhythmia.
Electrochemical Glucose Sensor
Uses enzymes that react with glucose in blood or fluid and generate an electrical signal; calculates blood sugar level in glucometers.
Load cell sensor
Converts pressure (your body weight) into an electrical signal; gives accurate digital weight readings in smart scales.
Chest Strap Monitors
Utilize electrodes to detect the heart’s electrical activity, akin to an ECG.
anonymization
a process of removing or modifying Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from data, making it impossible to link the data back to an individua
