Define أبد the plural forms are إبَاد and أبِيد

A

Abd, plural forms ibād and abeed - Slave

When used in the Quran it denotes people’s role as slave of Allah.

Therefore the name Abdullah literally means slave of Allah.

This can be used with any of Allah’s names but as Muslims we do not name ourselves or claim to be slave to anyone or anything else.

This is a very important concept as it denotes the natural relationship between people and Allah!

حِسَاب what is

A

Hisāb - accountability

People will be made to answer for and be held responsible for all their actions.

102:8

ثُمَّ لَتُسْأَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ

Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)!

75:36

أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى

Does man think that he will be left Suda [neglected without being punished or rewarded for the obligatory duties enjoined by his Lord (Allah) on him]?

Accountability represents the meeting point between Allah’s Mercy and Justice. From His Mercy he made people the recipient of his bounty. From His Justice He has ordained a Day on which people will have to answer for the way they used His blessings and bounties.

الشَّجَره المَلعُنَه

A

Ash’shajarah Al mul’ūnah - The Accursed Tree

The tree the sprouts from the very core of hell. It is called the Accursed Tree because it was created as a punishment for those in Hell therefore unlike the other trees and greenery it doesn’t not represent Allah’s Mercy.

It is know as the Zaqqūm tree.

37:62-68

أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ

Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)?

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّالِمِينَ

Truly We have made it (as) a trial for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.).

إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ

Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire,

طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ

The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils);

فَإِنَّهُمْ لَآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ

Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ

Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies).

ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ

Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell.

زَنَا

A

Zinā - illicit sexual intercourse

24:2

الزَّانِيَةُ وَالزَّانِي فَاجْلِدُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا مِائَةَ جَلْدَةٍ وَلَا تَأْخُذْكُم بِهِمَا رَأْفَةٌ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَائِفَةٌ مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

The woman and the man guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. (This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime but if married persons commit it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah’s Law).

17:32

وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الزِّنَا إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَاحِشَةً وَسَاءَ سَبِيلًا

And come not near to the unlawful sexual intercourse. Verily, it is a Fahishah [i.e. anything that transgresses its limits (a great sin)], and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allah forgives him).
