Polar regions
Found at the very north (Arctic) and very south (Antarctica) of the Earth β high latitudes.
Coniferous forests
Located in a wide band just below the Arctic Circle β mainly in Canada, northern Europe, and northern Russia.
Deciduous forests
Found in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere β like Western Europe, Eastern USA, and parts of East Asia.
Grasslands
Occur in central parts of continents β such as central North America (prairies), central Asia (steppes), and eastern Africa (savannahs).
Tropical rainforests
Located along the Equator β in the Amazon Basin (South America), Central Africa, and Southeast Asia.
Hot deserts
Found on either side of the Equator, around 30Β° north and south β including the Sahara, Arabian, Australian, and Atacama deserts.
Mediterranean biome
Appears in narrow coastal regions β like around the Mediterranean Sea, coastal California, parts of South Africa, and south-west Australia.
Mountain regions
Located in long narrow belts along tectonic plate boundaries β such as the Andes, Himalayas, and Rockies.
