1
Q

Q

If the concentration increases, what change will it make to the diffusion rate

A

It would increase the diffusion rate

Q

If you increase the temperature what change will happen for the diffusion rate

A

The diffusion rate would be faster as particles have more energy

Q

What substances can fit through a cell membrane

A

Small Molecules Like Water and Glucose can fit through the Cell Membrane. Dissolved substances can go through via diffusion. However Protein and Starch can’t fit as they are an example of big molecules.

Q

Where does the particles go in moving from one cell to another

A

They always move from an area of high concentration, to a low concentration.

Q

If you had a larger surface area of the cell membrane, what change will take place in the diffusion rate

A

the diffusion rate would increase. For an example, when you have a water bottle, if you put 2 holes, not a lot of water will spill out, but if you but 30 holes, more water will come out. same thing with surface area, if there is less surface area, there are less pathways for the molecules to go through, making it slower
