What is the function of the digestive system?
To break down food and absorb the nutrients.
What is an enzyme?
a molecule that speeds up metabolism
What is an ulcer?
a sore in the stomach or esophagus
What is indigestion?
discomfort in your abdomen that can be accompanied by nausea, regurgitation, etc.
What is heartburn?
discomfort near your heart caused by food
What are digestive juices?
fluids in your stomach, pancreas, and liver that breaks down food into nutrients
What causes the stomach to grumble?
hunger, slow or incomplete digestion, or the consumption of certain foods
What is the purpose of the esophagus?
leads food into the stomach after consumption
Where is the liver?
behind the stomach and on top of the large intestine
Where is the gallbladder?
behind the liver next to the stomach
Where is the large intestine?
On the outside of the small intestine
Where is the small intestine?
On the inside of the large intestine.
Where is the appendix?
At the end of the small intestine
Where is the rectum?
Above the anus, at the end is the large intestine
Where is the anus?
Below the rectum
Where is the pancreas?
Behind the stomach
