Cellulitis
Cellulitis can be described as a bacterial infection of the skin.
CAUSES*
It’s often caused by Staphylococcus or
Streptococcus. It can
sometimes occur as the result of a break in the skin which allows bacteria to get in.
SYMPTOMS*
• Blistered skin
• Swelling
• Pain/tenderness
• Warmth
• Redness
• Fever
• The inflamed area can expand
TREATMENT*
Oral / IV antibiotics typically Flucloxacillin
Reyes Syndrome
rare but serious disease that causes brain damage and liver problems, primarily affecting children and teenagers recovering from a viral illness
CAUSES*•
mitochondrial injury and a disruption in fatty acid metabolism, potentially aggravated by salicylate use
SYMPTOMS•
diarrhea
rapid breathing
vomiting
severe fatigue
confusion
seizures
loss of consciousness
TREATMENT•
Aspirin (or salicylates)
Intravenous (IV) fluids
1) surgical procedure where part of the stomach is removed

Related to dumping syndrome
