-look at and feel the outside of heart and try to identify 4 main vessels
-identify the atriums and ventricles and coronary arteries
-draw and label a sketch

-make cut down to apex of left ventricle to examine left atrium and ventricle
-examine tendinous cords, bicuspid valve and semi lunar valve
-make similar cut down right side of heart to open right atrium and ventricle
-look for tricuspid valve and semi lunar valve

-measure thicknesses of walls in atriums and ventricles and make scale bar for scientific drawing
-produce detailed annotated scientific drawing
