What are the seven basic steps for performing a Tarot reading?

  1. The seeker/querent concentrates on a specific question to be answered.
  2. The seeker states the question out loud to the diviner.
  3. The diviner holds the cards and directs his/her focus through them, then hands the cards to the seeker.
  4. The seeker shuffles the cards, then returns them to the diviner.
  5. The diviner lays out the cards facedown in accordance with the chosen spread.
  6. Starting with Card 1, the diviner turns over each card from left to right to ensure the cards lie in the same direction they were dealt.
