What does Bott say about conjugal roles
There are two types;
segregated- expressive and instrumental
Joint conjugal roles; share domestic tasks and spend lot of leisure time together
In 1950 what research did Willmott and Young carry out
What was different in 1970
In London, roles were segregated
-men dominated decision making and discipline, spent more time with other men beyond the family and women relied on men for income and important decisions.
-Women often experienced domestic violence from more physically powerful husbands.
Women can now work
men help with housework and childcare
couples spend leisure time together
