Q

How do Catholics view divorce and re-marriage?

A
  • Divorce is not accepted as marriage is a sacrament that is a permanent commitment
  • If a Catholics marriage breaks down, potentially the marriage can be annulled ( This means the marriage was never valid )
or the wife and husband seperate.
  • The Church considers marriage a lifelong, sacred bond, and therefore, remarriage requires a declaration that the previous marriage was invalid in the eyes of the Catholic Church.
