Stroke (haemorrhagic or ischaemic)

What do you think with sudden onset dizziness?
Stroke - Either type
What would suggest vascular event for dizziness?
- Vertical nystagmus (can be horizontal)
- Sudden headache
- Vascular risk factors
- Negative head impulse test
- Any brain stem signs
What would suggest a non vascular cause for dizziness?
Positive head impulse test
Horizontal nystagmus (contralateral snap back phase)
How does cerebellar nystagmus present?

Ipsalateral nystagmus
Contralateral
What are the symptoms of cerebellar disease?
DANISH PT
Nystagmus is on the ipsalateral side
What are the antibodies for paraneoplastic disease?
Anti Hu,Yo

Vascular event
