EAR? What is it?

Estimated Average requirement:
Average daily amount required to meet half of the healthy population body function.
Used to caculate RDA.

RDA? What is it?

Recommended daily allowance: The average amount of a nutrient that is adequate to meet almost all healthy people needs in a group. Set above EAR to prevent nutrient deficiencies.

AI? What is it?

Adequate intake: The average daily amount of a nutrient that is estimated to be sufficient to mantain normal bodily function. Estimated guess, not enough evidence.

UL? What is sit?

Tolerable upper intake level: Max daily amount of a nutrient likely to pose no risk of adverse heath effects for most healthy people.
- used to prevent toxicity.
ex. excess beta carotene causes orange skin.
